single conical helical spring, unbalanced seal with '0' ring as secondary sealing member. Various seal face materials and elastomers can be offered for wide service application. As the torque transmission is done by conical helical spring these seals are dependent of the direction of rotation. Direction of rotation is seen from the drive end of the shaft. Clockwise rotating shaft requires right handed spring and anticlockwise rotating shaft requires left-handed spring. For easier fitting, the conical helical spring should be pushed on the shaft with a twisting motion in the sense of the spring unwinding. This movement enlarges the diameter of the spring, enabling easy fitment.

This is a unique seal developed to meet stringent technical requirements of Boiler feed water pumps.
Rotating mating ring design makes it suitable for high speed application and avoids critical requirments of stuffing box face squareness.
Both the faces are having strong positive drive and locking arrangment which make seal very strong and sturdy.
Thermodynamic circulation grooves inscribed on the rotating faces boost the cooling of the sliding faces by reducing the coefficient of friction and protecting the seal against thermal over loading.
Increased collent flow effected by the pumping screws and the fluid guiding channel combine to force the cold water into the gap between seal ring and mating ring, blowing out gas bubbles and dirt praticles and picking up frictional heat.

Specially designed cartridge seal for pumps handling oil, water and other fluids which are being pumped at very high pressure. These seals are widely used on pipe and Boiler feed water pumps. Very sturdy design and drive arrangement makes the seal suitable for very high pressure. This being multiple spring seal, it provides uniform face loading.
The shaft seal type SPE is a single-acting bidirectional mechanical seal. It was specially designed for sealing against abrasive products and is used for flooded side entering applications. The seal rings are surrounded, lubricated and cooled by the product. The hydraulic design and the preload of the springs are arranged in such a way that the seal gap of the highly wear-resistant pair of seal rings (Silicon carbide) is reliably lubricated. This makes any hydraulic installation superfluous, i.e. in the plant no additional seal liquid supply systems need be used. The temperature in the seal gap is so low that no evaporation of the fluid in the seal gap occurs. Springs, drive pin and o-rings are protected against caking.
The SPE is the most used mechanical seal in FGD-agitators worldwide. Special metallic materials for product-wetted components give reliable protection against corrosion, also in the use of aggressive media. If highly aggressive media are used and the highest safety conditions are necessary, the product-wetted components can be manufactured in a special plastic which is highly corrosion-proved.

It uses a hi-tech lining process, free from adhesive bonding. This eliminates peeling off of the lining from the metal body unlike other lined products. The hi-tech lining process involves high prssure moulding at high temperature to ensure uniform thickness of lining free from cavaties, air pockets, cold flows etc. A unique feature is the dove-tail grooves provided on the metal casing and backplate.
